In this picture a totally hand-laminated hull is emerging from the mold. The hull is cored with ¾ in. foam, which contributes to the enormous strength of the vessel. The amount of fiberglass used in a custom 46 is sufficient to build two production boats of the same size.

The hull is ready for complete outfitting, from the 9600 lb. lead ballast to final interior trim.

Another Custom 46 is about to be given its unique character.

Interior framing and layout has begun.

The interior layout can be built to suit the owner's requirements.

All interior components are bonded to hull and deck, producing a very strong monocock structure.

In this image the deck is ready to be rotated and placed on hull.

The deck is also hand-laminated and cored with ¾ inch foam core.

In areas of hardware, rigid foam is used instead of the traditional plywood.  This method produces a structure of superior strength and longevity.
